Speaking up on Mental Health

A half-day forum featuring speakers who are living with mental illnesses.

St Vincent de Paul Society members report a growing number of people with a mental illness accessing our services. Many of them are lonely, feel isolated, and have little or no social linkages. The current medical model with its existing structure cannot meet this crucial need. Few can maintain wellness, no matter how good a management plan they have, without secure affordable housing with appropriate levels of support and social linkages.

Our National Council is therefore hosting a half-day forum in which we can hear the voices of those who are living with mental illnesses and those who stand in solidarity and friendship with them.

All are welcome, and there is no registration fee, but we ask that you register beforehand for catering purposes.
