The object of the partnership is to assist our twinned countries to move towards self-sufficiency, as we join them in prayer, contact and material support.

Conferences (parish groups of Society members) express their twinning commitment by sharing their spirituality through prayer, their culture through letters and financial resources through a basic quarterly contribution of $80.

In the Canberra/Goulburn Central Council...

The term 'twinning' means the pairing of a Conference in one country with a particular Conference in another country.

There are three objectives of the Twinning program:

  1. To organise communication between Conferences in different parts of the world, with a view to stimulate and promote a spirit of understanding and friendship;
  2. To help spirituality in the Conference in countries on the way to dvelopment, so as to bring about the establishment of justice throughout the world; solidarity of the Society worldwide; and the struggle against misery; and
  3. To avail every opportunity to establish new conferences overseas, give them a start, and help them expand.
